But that doesn’t mean those women were content with how they looked.

The struggle to attain the perfect body wasn’t going anywhere.
However, the premiere of the television showGirlsin 2012 started to shift the body types presented by the media.
“Over time, butts have become a thing.”

And boy, was she right.
Butts ruled all in 2014, and no matter who you were, you wanted a big one.
On the contrary, the body positivity movement was merely focused onnotconforming to societal ideals ofbeauty.

In 2017, a healthy body was a perfect body.
It’s not a movement that I feel represents me any more."
In place of body positivity came body neutrality.

That being said, in 2018, the perfect body jot down for women didn’t really exist.
Instead, feelings towards the ideal body were merely… neutral.
Really, Instagram is an entire form of media in and of itself.

There are ads, there are celebrities, there is content, and there are influencers.
So very many influencers.
Every woman has a beautiful body, and every body is a bikini body, no matter what.

However, ideals still exist.
She continued, “We as a culture, as a society, are obsessed with size.
It’s become connected to our identity as people.”

As society changes, so does the idea of what a woman’s body is supposed to look like.
