Friendscouples set some unrealistic standards back when it aired the show had plenty of unrealistic moments actually.
After all, you probably couldn’tafford an apartmentlike the one Monica and Rachel had.
But whenFriendsarrives, suddenly it’s clear that people like that are in fact the majority."

These are theFriends' couples ranked from worst to best.
“It seems like no matter what timeline … Barry was sort of just there to be the “bad” guy in Rachel’s past.
The two were together for six episodes in the show’s fifth season.

Through the short affair, theFriendscouple seemed to have quite a bit ofphysical chemistry.
Out ofthe main cast, Phoebe was the one with the least amount of “serious” relationships.
But these two clearly didn’t have a future.

Julie was nice, smart, and mature, and she had a lot in common with Ross.
The unwarranted hate towards Julie wasn’t even just on-screen.
Nevertheless, Julie got her happy ending.

Tombelieves she ended up withthe Ross doppelganger, Russ.
Needless to say, Emily was rightfully upset at Ross' blunder and went into hiding after thewedding.
Emily saw Rossgoing on their honeymoon with Racheland disappeared for another three episodes.

You know, the woman he was clearly stillin lovewith.
ThisFriendscouple finally ended their relationship soon after when Emily realized she couldn’t trust Ross.
Despite any affection the two had prior to the wedding, this relationship was a dumpster fire.

Chandler broke up with Janice about three times in the first season alone.
Eventually they would split in aheartfelt but hilariousbreak up.
The next attempt at a relationship would result in the greatYemen escapeof Season 4.

Janice was a memorable, funny character.
The audience lost their minds whenever that nasally voicecame through the doorwith an, “Oh.
InFriends, Kathy started going out with Joey, but Chandler began to develop strong feelings for her.

Chandler pined for her until eventually she revealed that she had feelings tooand kissed him.
To Chandler’s credit, he did the right thing and told Joey soon after.
Kathy, in truth, wasn’t all that interesting.

Joey ended upstuffing Chandler in a boxfor a whole episode.
Joey, of course, eventually forgave Chandler, and Kathy stuck around for a while.
Then, shock of all shocks, she ended upcheatingon Chandler with another actor.

Chandler and Kathy got along well, and theFriendscouple had a sarcastic humor in common.
One can only judge her so much considering how easyactor Robert Cahill is on the eyes.
TheFriendscouple worked well together, on screen and off.

“She really allowed me to have a voice on set,” Cahill toldGlamour.
The characters had a fun fling, but that’s also all their relationship really was.
Tag was memorable for theworkplace hijinks, but thisFriendscouple just didn’t have staying power.

However, the show was wrapping up, and Ross needed to reunite with Rachel for the last time.
Charlie was a part of one of the last short-term relationships on the show.
Years afterthe finale, people still seem tohate the romance subplotbetween them.

Not even the cast was completely on board.
If they had stayed together, the character growth for Joey would’ve been amazing.
Plus, it’s no question that the twohad fun together.

The only real complaint most people seemed to have is that Rachel and Ross belonged together, apparently.
Carol divorced Ross prior to the first episode after realizing she’s a lesbian.
She married Susan, and the two remained together for the series' entire run.

Their wedding aired in 1996, exactly nine years before same-sex marriage would benationally legalized.
However, theFriendscouple couldn’t kiss on-screen.
She added, “We had blackouts in Lima and Texas, the affiliates were blocked out.

There were at least two affiliates that refused to air it.”
Clearly, they were doing something right.
Most hookups lasted only an episode or two, and the characters involved didn’t have much personality.
But this was not so with the nerdy scientist David.
Phoebe met him aftershe yelled at himfor talking during one of her performances.
His quiet, dorky demeanor made him an endearing foil to Phoebe, and he clearly cared for her.
So I was sort of sad when I didn’t.”
He was even popular with the rest of her friends.
Phoebeproclaimedshe liked Richard more than anyone else Monica had been with, and hebecame fast friendswith Chandler and Joey.
But their age gap came back to haunt them in the end.
Monica was enthusiastic about having kids, while Richard was already a grandfather and not interested.
The plan always was kind of to bring him back.”
The power ofPaul Ruddliterally changed Phoebe’s fate.
He was Phoebe’sfirst long-term boyfriendand, eventually,her last.
ThisFriendscouple’s wedding was wonderfully weird and a beautiful conclusion to Phoebe’sdatinglife.
It’s too bad for David, but Mike really was the perfect man for Phoebe.
No one can deny that theirfirst kissin the Central Perk cafe was iconic.
There was something to what Ross and Rachel shared that resonates fiercely with viewers.
It made it so much better when they did get together."
And as David Crane said earlier,Emmawould be in therapy."
The fan response was too good to ignore.
Chandler went from a wise-cracking commitment-phobe toa loving husband.
Monica learned to loosen up a little and wasn’t afraid tomake a fool of herself for love.
People may question Ross and Rachel’s strength as a couple, but nobody can question Chandler and Monica’slove.
