Although Kristin decided to stay on for four consecutive seasons, theSATCset wasn’t the fantasy she’d expected.
“But that wasn’t my experience.”
“The crew was like family.
We shared jokes, meals, and fashion tips,” Kristin shared in herGlamourop-ed.
But the seemingly safe and friendly environment quickly transformed into amisogynistandsexist place to work.
“Some crew members cracked unprompted jokes about me having a boob job.
(I didn’t.
),” she wrote.
Worse, some suggested Kristin compromised herself for theSATCjob.
“(Again, I didn’t.)
After that, I didn’t always want to come to work, but I needed the paycheck.”
I was horrified," Kristin wrote.
“Another crew member took photos of me in this position from the video monitor.”
Horrified by the experience, Kristin threw in the towel and decided to pursue another passion: writing.
