Later that day, she opened up about her devastating loss in a heartbreaking post.
“Thank you for all the prayers.
We definitely need them.

“There aren’t enough words to describe our pain right now,” she continued.
“I take comfort in knowing that Kobe and Gigi both knew that they were so deeply loved.
We were so incredibly blessed to have them in our lives.

I wish they were here with us forever.
They were our beautiful blessings taken from us too soon.”
For now, they’re just trying to hold it together.

Our love for them is endless and that’s to say, immeasurable.
I just wish I could hug them, kiss them and bless them.
Have them here with us, forever.”

We ask that you grant us the respect and privacy we will need to navigate this new reality."
“A lot of couples with children make plans that are in the best interest of their children.
It was the same for Kobe and Vanessa.
The decision to not fly together was not fear-based.
It was a decision that they made because they felt it was the best for their family.
As very family-focused parents, they always considered what was best for the children.
This is why Kobe started flying in the first place.
He wanted to verify he could work and be the best dad possible.”
The pact may very well have saved Vanessa’s life.
