King Agnarr and Queen Iduna of Arendelle playeda small, but critical, role inFrozen.
Just a few scenes into the movie, they board a ship, leaving their now-grown daughters in Arendelle.
TheFrozen IItrailerthat dropped in June, however, makes us think that thingsmight be headed in another direction.

The trailer opens with Elsa growing into her powers, battling tidal waves.
Underwater, she encounters a mythical Norse water spirit called a Nokk.
We also see Queen Iduna in the trailer.
This ties into other fan theories that came out afterFrozen’s release.
One such theory speculates that Elsa and Anna’s parents might also be Tarzan’s parents.
Even the film’s director, Chris Buck, said that he likes this theory.
In Buck’s imagination, King Agnarr and Queen Iduna don’t die.
While we could get on board with that story, Buck noted that this theory is definitely not canon.
Another favorite fan theory connects Elsa and Anna’s parents toThe Little MermaidandTangled.
Couldthe sunken shipwe see inThe Little Mermaidactually belong to King Agnarr and Queen Iduna?
We’ll have to wait untilFrozen IIpremieres on November 22 to find out for sure.
